Plymstock Oaks RFC is gearing up for one of the most exciting moments in the club’s history as the Women’s Rugby World Cup Trophy arrives on Monday 30 March 2026, forming part of the national Community Rugby Trophy Tour. The visit marks a major milestone for the club and highlights its growing role in championing girls’ and women’s rugby across Plymouth.
To celebrate this special occasion, the club will host a free Girls’ Non‑Contact Rugby Session for ages 6–14. Designed to be fun, friendly, and fully inclusive, the session offers a perfect introduction to rugby for complete beginners while also welcoming girls already enjoying the sport. The entire community is invited to take part in the festivities.
Led by qualified coaches, the session requires no membership or previous experience. Every participant will also have the chance to enjoy an exclusive photo opportunity with the Women’s Rugby World Cup Trophy, creating a memorable first step into the world of rugby.
This event reflects Plymstock Oaks RFC’s long‑term commitment to expanding the girls’ game, increasing participation, and ensuring that local girls have accessible and welcoming pathways into the sport.
Conor Thomson, Head Girls Coach at Plymstock Oaks RFC, said: “Hosting the Women’s Rugby World Cup Trophy is an incredible honour for our club and community. We hope this moment inspires young girls across Plymouth. We want every girl to feel like rugby is an inclusive sport, helping develop self-confidence, a genuine feeling of belonging, making friendships and discovering what girls are capable of. Most importantly having fun!”
